Sancho, Rashford ‘and 15 first-team players set to resume training on Monday

The team’s preseason will officially start on June 27. However, the players who represented their nations during the most recent international break will need more time to heal, according to a statement made by the new Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag last month.

“On June 27, preseason will begin, and I will receive some of the squad’s and players’ names. The players who play international games will have a lengthier rest because they play more time during this current season, thus not all of them will be arriving [on June 27] “Tells MUTV, Ten Hag.

15 senior players will arrive at the club’s Carrington base on Monday morning to begin preseason, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Sancho and Rashford, who were both left out of the England team for the most recent UEFA Nations League games, are said to be attending, according to the article.

After joining the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund, Sancho struggled to find his best form, registering only five goals and three assists in 38 games.

Rashford, on the other hand, only scored five goals and two assists in 32 appearances last season, and in the second half of the season, it was rumored that the Englishman was evaluating his future at Old Trafford.

But Ten Hag reportedly wants to work with Rashford because he thinks he can help the 24-year-old player rediscover his greatest form.

On Monday, goalkeepers Dean Henderson, Tom Heaton, and David de Gea are also anticipated to be there, despite the latter’s rumored close proximity to a move to Nottingham Forest.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, and Luke Shaw are the other seven senior defenders who will begin preseason on Monday.

Along with Amad Diallo and Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton, is anticipated to return.

Martial joined Sevilla on loan in January, while Diallo played the second part of the 2021–22 season at Rangers on loan. Neither player was able to make a lasting effect.

The following group is scheduled to return in July, although Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Scott McTominay, and Cristiano Ronaldo will be absent on Monday.

On July 12, Man United will play a friendly match against Liverpool to begin their preparations for the 2022–23 season. They will also play preseason matches against Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, and Rayo Vallecano.

The 20-time English champions will then kick off their new Premier League season at home against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 7. They are reportedly close to signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
