Paulo Dybala, a free agent, is now open to the idea of moving to the Premier League, which raises the potential that he may take Cristiano Ronaldo’s place at Manchester United.
Since departing Juventus at the end of his contract, the Argentine has been without a team. His choice had been to stay in Italy, with Inter being seen as the favorite to sign him.
However, according to Sky Sport Italia, no proposals from Serie A teams have materialized, thus Dybala is now prepared to consider offers from England and Spain.
He would prefer a transfer to the Premier League over La Liga, and it is reported that both United and Arsenal have already spoken with his agent.
Ronaldo has made it plain he wants to leave Old Trafford, thus United’s interest in Dybala is now anticipated to increase in the coming days should the club permit Ronaldo to depart.
The 37-year-old is particularly hesitant to spend a year outside of the Champions League at this point in his career because he does not believe the Red Devils are in a position to contend for trophies.
The club’s position is thought to have softened after originally rejecting rumors that Ronaldo might depart, and they would now consider bids.
Sporting Lisbon, Roma, Napoli, Bayern Munich, and now even Barcelona have all been mentioned as potential destinations for transfers, although United would prevent a move to Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Erik ten Hag will need to sign at least two new attackers if Ronaldo is allowed to leave Old Trafford because Edinson Cavani has already left the team and Mason Greenwood is still on suspension.
Anthony Martial, who was loaned to Sevilla in January, and Marcus Rashford, who has primarily excelled on the left-wing, are United’s sole options to play in the middle at the moment.
The need for additional firepower at United could certainly be filled by Dybala, who is open to considering any offer from the Red Devils.
The Argentine is reportedly requesting a high salary of up to £280,000 a week along with a sizable signing-on fee, and third-party ownership difficulties may hinder the agreement.
While Inter has placed Dybala on “standby,” potential bidders Roma, Napoli, and AC Milan have never officially made an offer. Dybala had intended to remain in Italy.
The 28-year-old scored 10 goals in 29 Serie A games for Juventus last season, but once again, injuries and niggles interrupted his campaign.
