Manchester United have confirmed their stance on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future

Manchester United has informed Cristiano Ronaldo that he is not available in the transfer market this summer, following discussions between Jorge Mendes and Chelsea owner Todd Boehly. With Bayern Munich also interested in signing Ronaldo, United has taken a firm stance on his future.

‘High-level’ sources at Old Trafford have told Mirror Sport that Ronaldo has been told he will not be allowed to leave before Erik ten Hag‘s first season in charge. The Dutchman has included him in his plans for the 2022-23 season, and United has confirmed that he will remain.

Ronaldo’s future was discussed during a meeting between his agent Jorge Mendes and Boehly, it was revealed on Monday. With the 37-year-old dissatisfied with United’s lack of transfer activity following their disappointing season, Mendes had also spoken to Bayern about his availability.

The Red Devils are said to be enraged by the reports, which come less than two weeks before Ten Hag‘s squad departs for a pre-season tour of Thailand, Australia, and Norway. And they have responded by assuring their new manager and Ronaldo that he will play for Manchester United next season.
