Manchester United has received a new inquiry regarding the sale of Diogo Dalot on a potential summer transfer, according to the Manchester Evening News. He has clawed his way back into the starting lineup under Ralf Rangnick after being out for a long time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Man United intends to restructure their right-back position and has made an offer to at least one club ahead of the summer transfer window. Erik ten Hag does not expect him to play next season and has already been informed of their intention to sell him, which has resulted in the current situation.
Dalot, on the other hand, has drawn attention yet again, having been subjected to advances several times in the last year. An unknown club has inquired about his availability, but the Red Devils have stated unequivocally that they are uninterested in facilitating a move because he is in ten Hag’s plans.
Dalot’s rise under Rangnick has been largely due to his attacking playstyle, which is a fairly common trend in modern football. Wan-Bissaka is the polar opposite in nature, with strengths in defending from the back and stopping opposition attacks.
Top clubs typically require full-backs who contribute significantly in the attacking areas, which may have influenced ten Hag’s decision to trust Dalot over Wan-Bissaka. After all, the manager used his full-backs in a similar manner at Ajax, and he would most likely employ similar tactics at Old Trafford.
As a result, it is encouraging to see that the Manchester club has decided to stick with Dalot and has expressed their disinterest in selling him to an unknown party. Surprisingly, the English club is willing to change its stance if they receive transfer bids for the Portuguese right-back that exceed their €25 million valuations.
