Liverpool supporters were overjoyed to learn that Mohamed Salah had signed a new contract yesterday, but it appears Naby Keita won’t be doing the same.
The Guinean international has had trouble adjusting to the Premier League‘s expectations since moving from RB Leipzig in 2018, despite Jurgen Klopp once calling him “one of the best midfielders” he’s ever seen.
The 27-year-old hasn’t started more than 16 league games each season for Liverpool since making the switch.
Libero claims that Keita is searching for a way out as a result. That is exactly what a prospective swap deal for the midfielder may provide.
According to reports, Keita might be a part of a deal that would bring Adrien Rabiot to Liverpool this summer.
After another disappointing Serie A season for the Old Lady, the Frenchman is searching for a way out of Juve.
Rabiot and Keita, however, are very different athletes.
Although he hasn’t been at his best at Anfield, Keita is a more offensively-minded, creative engine room player than Rabiot, who prefers to sit deeper.
Rabiot would probably move to Liverpool to face off against Thiago Alcantara for the slightly more traditional left-central-midfield position.
Keita often plays on the right side of Klopp’s midfield three, so the switch would not be an exact replacement.
