Liverpool starting XI: new attacking machine included as the red prepare to face RB Leipzig

In their third preseason game of the year, Liverpool will take on RB Leipzig, which should give Thiago the chance to get to know Darwin Nunez better.

Due to Jurgen Klopp‘s desire to get all of his players back to match fitness following the summer vacation, it is very hard to anticipate who he will start.

The German used three sides, each of which played for 30 minutes against Manchester United in a 4-0 loss.

Against Crystal Palace, he deployed two sides for 45 minutes with a few changes here and there.

He’s likely to do so again. I hope Nunez and Thiago start the game as I’m really excited about the relationship they could form.

We’ve already seen Thiago actively look to find the former Benfica star with long balls over the top.

Nunez is a willing runner in the channels and his energy and speed will be sure to provide Liverpool with a different approach to counter-attacking this season.

While Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are both blessed with unreal pace, they’ve always been players that prefer to receive the ball to their feet as opposed to chasing it down in the channels.

Luis Diaz, however, has already proven to be a player that likes to make darting runs in behind and this could provide Thiago and Naby Keita with the types of run they have historically fed off.

This pass from Thiago to Ribery still blows me away. He plays a deep role for the Reds but these types of passes come naturally to the Spanish maestro.

When the season begins, if Thiago can set Diaz or Nunez free with these passes, Liverpool will have the opportunity to completely ignore defenses on route to goals.

Just over three weeks remain till the start of the season, and I can’t wait to see how this team develops.

Predicted XI to face RB Leipzig: Adrian, Trent, Konate, Matip, Tsimikas, Fabinho, Elliott, Thiago, Thiago, Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
