Erik ten Hag confirms three key players who are not leaving manchester united

So far this summer, Manchester United has not sold a single player from their roster, and injuries have prevented at least three further departures.

Manchester United’s Phil Jones, Brandon Williams, and Axel Tuanzebe are all unlikely to leave before the transfer window ends on Thursday.

Jones has not practiced with the team all summer and has only started two games in the last two years, Tuanzebe abandoned the club’s pre-season tour after the first game in Bangkok, and Williams has been out with an injury for about two months.

United want to sign at least two players before next week’s 11 p.m. deadline on the night they play Leicester, but Ten Hag is hesitant to add any more players.

“I don’t know,” Ten Hag said of the prospect of more additions. “We need players, clear, but we need the right players. The whole transfer window, we are happy with what we did until now but the bar has to be high.”

On Jones, Tuanzebe, and Williams, he added: “It can be but we are talking about players who are not available so I don’t think they will go out in this window.”

United have loaned out Dean Henderson, Alex Telles, and Eric Bailly so far this summer, but have yet to sell a single member of last season’s side.

Marseille is obligated to pay €6 million for Bailly if he plays a set amount of games and the club qualifies for the Champions League.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still available for sale, with Crystal Palace interested in re-signing the right-back three years after selling him to Manchester United for a cost that has since risen to £50 million.

Palace will only pay £10 million for Wan-Bissaka, who might be loaned back to Selhurst Park.
