Prior to Manchester United’s preseason preparations, Cristiano Ronaldo has been practicing at the training facility of La Liga team RCD Mallorca.
Prior to the Red Devils’ departure on their preseason trip on June 27, new manager Erik ten Hag ordered the majority of his players back to Carrington. On July 12, they play their first friendly match in Thailand against rival Liverpool.
Following Man Utd’s catastrophic 2021/22 season, in which they finished with 59 points in the Premier League, their lowest since the league’s inception in 1992, and failed to advance to the latter stages of the domestic cups and Champions League, star striker Ronaldo has been linked with a move away. Additionally, it has been conjectured that he is dissatisfied with the club’s lack of recent transfer activity.
On Friday, the 37-year-old uploaded a photo on his Instagram account showing him intensifying his conditioning at Mallorca’s facilities.
Ronaldo is one among those who will return for preseason at a later time, despite Ten Hag’s request for those who did not participate in any international matches in June to come to Carrington on Monday.
He participated in three of Portugal’s four Nations League games earlier this month, and his two goals against Switzerland in a 4-0 rout stand out. He failed to score, though, in Spain’s 1-1 draw and the Czech Republic’s 2-0 triumph.
