Manchester United XI: 4-3-3 vs Southampton as Cristiano Ronaldo leads and Casemiro makes his first debut

Manchester United will look to start a winning streak when they face Southampton at St. Mary’s on Saturday. And Erik ten Hag is dealing with a new injury issue ahead of his team’s next match.
Manchester United’s latest absentee is Anthony Martial, who suffered an Achilles injury against Liverpool earlier this week. Furthermore, Victor Lindelof, Brandon Williams, and Facundo Pellistri are still out and will not play against Southampton on Saturday.

During his pre-match press conference, Erik ten Hag delivered an update on Martial and also discussed Manchester United’s latest signing, Casemiro. “We’ll see tomorrow,” Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho stated. The manager is aware, but I will first inform the team and we will see tomorrow

“Casemiro is fit. He did all of the training sessions. He trained first individually and, in the last days, he trained with the team. Anthony Martial is not fit. He came out with a problem on his Achilles, [coming] out of the game, so we have to wait. I cannot tell a prognosis how long it takes but, of course, I hope that he will be available for the next game [Leicester].”

During his press conference, Erik ten Hag also provided an update on Lindelof, revealing that the Swede will be back with the team on Sunday and available for the next game. “Victor Lindelof played incredibly well in pre-season, so I am delighted he will be back on Sunday in the team, so we will have another alternative,” Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said.
