Sport1 news Sir Alex Ferguson forwarded a recommendation to Manchester United to check into Trapp.
“Ferguson was urged by his contacts in Germany in the summer to take a closer look at Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp,” the station claims.
“And what the “Sir” saw was pretty persuasive… if Ferguson believes in a player’s ability, he will help facilitate a transfer.” He next attempts to obtain the required monies from the Glazer family.”
Erik ten Hag must be interested in order for a move to be made. So far this transfer window, the new manager has driven United’s transfer policy. According to BILD, Ten Hag is totally supportive of the move.
Earlier this week, Trapp was asked about the rumors. According to The Sun, he said, “It’s always great when rumors like this come out.” It’s a lovely compliment. But I’m unable to intervene.”
He will likely be even more flattered to learn Sir Alex Ferguson has been involved in the hunt for his signature.
BILD report Eintracht Frankfurt want £21 million for Trapp and wants a deal to be concluded quickly if at all, to allow them time to sign a replacement.
Sky claim United have made an approach for Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka, possibly put off by the asking price for Trapp.
