Liverpool forward has revealed his excitement to play alongside Darwin Nunez

Mohamed Salah has expressed his enthusiasm at the thought of teaming up with Darwin Nunez, who has signed a new contract with Liverpool FC, next season.

Salah signed a new three-year contract with the Merseyside club on Friday, putting an end to months of rumors about his future and keeping him at Anfield through the summer of 2025.

The situation with the Egyptian international at Anfield has been a hot topic in recent months as he was linked with a transfer away from the club as the time ran out on his previous deal, which was set to expire next summer.

The forward has since signed a new contract, keeping him at Liverpool FC for the foreseeable future, with a rumored weekly value of around £350,000.

Nunez, an Uruguayan international, joined Liverpool FC from Benfica early in the transfer window, and Salah is expected to team up with him next season.

And the 30-year-old has acknowledged that he is looking forward to the opportunity to play alongside Nunez next season as Liverpool FC aims to once again contend for the Premier League championship.

Salah responded, “I am really thrilled, I want to play alongside him,” when asked about Nunez joining Liverpool FC and Sadio Mane leaving for Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window. He played well against us both at home and away for Benfica and had a terrific season.

Additionally, Sadio has left, and I will miss him. I wish him the best because he had fantastic seasons with the team. I hope Darwin will contribute to numerous goals for us.

Salah said when asked about his choice to extend his contract with the Premier League runners-up: “I feel wonderful and [I am] thrilled to win trophies with the club. Today is a joyful day for everyone.

I believe that renewing takes some time, but now that everything is over, all that is left is to concentrate on what comes next.

When the Reds, who were second in the table behind Manchester City last season, play Fulham away from home on the opening weekend of the season, Salah and Nunez may start for the first time in the Premier League.
