Following Jurgen Klopp’s admission that he is “missing him,” Sadio Mane reminds Liverpool once more.
After Jurgen Klopp acknowledged that Sadio Mane was “missing” at Liverpool, the Senegalese forward scored another significant goal for Bayern Munich.

Mane left Liverpool this summer and signed a £35.1 million contract with Bayern Munich. After making it obvious he wanted a fresh challenge, the seasoned forward ended six trophy-filled seasons at Anfield.

With the Bundesliga’s top teams, the forward had a quick start, tallying four goals in his first four games. In the match against Barcelona on Wednesday night at Camp Nou, he scored his 10th goal for his new team, continuing his scoring spree.

Mane scored in his third straight Champions League game for Bayern and his fifth in his last eight games overall for the club. It was a cool, composed, and collective effort.

In 269 appearances for Liverpool, Mane scored 120 goals and won six major awards. Jurgen Klopp’s team is still adjusting to life without the attacker, who was consistently outstanding throughout his tenure at Anfield.

Earlier this month, Klopp described Mane as “a good guy and a terrific player” on Sky Germany. Missing, though, implies that I still want him here. I believe it’s perfectly OK if Sadio only desired to take a different course of action.

“Absolutely. I totally respect that. The way it went was great. We knew that he would do something different without breaking up badly. That must be possible in life.

“That’s exactly what happened. Missing? Yes! But I’m happy too. That he’s where he wanted to be. We’ll solve our problems here. Sadio is an outstanding player. Everyone in Munich saw that too. He’s absolutely world-class. Everything will be fine.”

It was the second 0-3 victory for Bayern at Camp Nou in successive seasons, having won at the stadium against Barcelona at the same stage of the competition last season. This was another display of ruthlessness from Julian Nagelsmann’s side, with Serge Gnabry helping himself to a hat-trick of assists.

Mane opened the scoring from a fine Gnabry pass before Erick Choupo-Moting doubled the lead. Gnabry’s third goal for Bayern was ruled out for offside, but Benjamin Pavard did put the icing on the German side’s cake with a late goal to wrap up the win.
