Real Madrid pushing hard to sign €18 million Bayern Munich right-back January

According to reports, Real Madrid is willing to pay up to €18 million to capture versatile French defender Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid will be willing to pay between €15 million and €18 million to recruit Benjamin Pavard. The versatile French defender could depart Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window in 2023.

Since joining Bayern Munich from VfB Stuttgart in July 2019, Benjamin Pavard has taken his career to new heights. The 26-year-old has been a consistent performer for the Bundesliga winners, contributing to their domestic domination. At the same time, he remains an important character for France’s national team.

The versatile French defender has appeared in 140 games for Bayern Munich, contributing nine goals and 11 assists. Pavard, on the other hand, is likely to depart Die Roten next summer in search of a new experience. A situation like this has piqued the interest of several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid.

By signing Benjamin Pavard, Real Madrid can kill two birds with one stone. The reason for this is that the reigning La Liga winners are looking for a center-back and a right-back. Given the uncertainty surrounding Nacho’s future, Real Madrid may need to invest in a center-back.

Furthermore, Dani Carvajal’s performance has dipped significantly in recent years. Meanwhile, Alvaro Odriozola is not in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, and Lucas Vazquez has been inconsistent. As a result, Real Madrid will need to sign a right-back next summer. That’s where dynamic French defender Benjamin Pavard comes in.

The 26-year-old will most likely start at right back and serve as a backup option for the central defensive positions. And Real Madrid is willing to spend up to €18 million for Pavard, with a lower restriction of €15 million. However, such an offer may not be sufficient, as current sources say Bayern Munich will demand €35 million.

Real Madrid recently spoke with Pavard’s representatives, and it will be intriguing to see whether they can persuade Bayern Munich to lower the transfer fee. If not, Los Blancos will have to increase their proposal from €18 million, which is not guaranteed.
