Pep Guardiola so happy as key player return fully back to training and set to face Fulham

Erling Haaland was injured and missed Manchester City‘s victories over Sevilla and Leicester, but he has returned to training.

Erling Haaland has returned to training, giving Manchester City a big injury boost ahead of their Premier League encounter with Fulham.

Haaland, 22, missed the weekend triumph over Leicester as well as the Champions League victory over Sevilla on Wednesday due to a foot injury. On October 25, he limped off against his former team Borussia Dortmund.

However, with a return to domestic matters on the horizon for Pep Guardiola and his squad on Saturday afternoon (3 pm), their top goalscorer laced up his boots on Thursday morning. Haaland continues to take the Premier League by storm with 22 goals in 16 games.

Guardiola was pressed on Haaland and his fitness during his pre-match press conference for the Sevilla game. He said: “Erling will not be available for tomorrow [Wednesday night].

“He feels better compared to Saturday and Sunday, but not 100 percent. We don’t want to take a risk as it makes no sense. Hopefully, he will be back for Fulham.”

Norway striker Haaland was naturally the most noticeable omission for City against Sevilla, given his incredible goal return since joining the club this summer. However, with Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips both out due to injury, younger talents were given their chance to shine.

Walker is out with a groin injury, while Phillips, who also joined City this summer, is out with a shoulder injury. Both are still under consideration for the 2022 World Cup.
