Manchester United’s strong line-up for Ten Hag’s first pre-season game v Liverpool

Later on today, Manchester United will play its first preseason game as the Erik ten Hag era takes shape.

After a disastrous 2021/22 season, United takes on old rivals Liverpool in Bangkok, Thailand, hoping for a performance that will give fans cause for optimism.

Ten Hag will find it to be a helpful test before facing Liverpool at Old Trafford in the third Premier League game of the year in August.

The match will kick off at 2 pm UK time. United’s next three games on tour all take place before midday.

The only UK broadcaster showing the game is MUTV. Coverage begins at 1.30 pm

Manchester United has brought 31 players on tour, so reducing this to 11 players leaves a lot of room for error in the expected starting lineup.

United are anticipated to make 11 alterations, maybe all at halftime, just like they did in the opening friendly against Derby County last season. Even then, nine players would be eliminated.

Erik ten Hag would have to decide whether to select his favored side all at once or distribute them across the two halves.
