Manchester United’s best defender set to miss world cup final as player ill with flu

Kolo Muani, a forward, shot down rumors of a more dangerous flu outbreak by saying, “There is a tiny bit of illness moving around, but nothing major.”
Two days before the World Cup final match against Argentina, players for France Raphael Varane, Ibrahima Konate, and Kingsley Coman missed training on Friday due to cold-like symptoms, a source close to the team stated.

The French Football Federation (FFF) attempted to put an end to unverified rumors of “camel flu” in the french camp by stating that Coman, the Bayern Munich winger, had previously been forced to skip a training session on Thursday due to a “mild viral illness.”

‘Coman had a fever this morning,’ Deschamps said in a press conference on Thursday. ‘We have had a few cases of flu-like symptoms. We are trying to be careful so that it does not spread. The players have put in a great effort on the pitch and obviously, their immune systems have suffered.

Coman was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win against Morocco in Wednesday’s semi-final.

The condition of Varane and Konate will cause France coach Didier Deschamps more concern as they formed the central defensive partnership against Morocco.

Dayot Upamecano had been substituted by Konate in the semi-final defense lineup due to his illness.

The crucial member of France’s midfield in Qatar, Adrien Rabiot, missed the semi-final due to sickness.

In a press conference on Friday, France’s Randal Kolo Muani stated: “There is a little bit of flu going around, but nothing major.”

Didier Deschamps, the head coach, responded, “I’d rather move on to the next issue,” when questioned about Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema‘s prospective return to the team.
