Manchester United have reached an agreement with Fulham over the transfer of a midfielder

According to The Athletic, Manchester United and Fulham have reached a deal over the signing of Andreas Pereira.

The 26-year-old recently spent time on loan at Flamengo and hasn’t played for the Red Devils since the 2019–2020 season.

The Brazilian team had the option to sign a permanent contract for £9 million, but they declined the offer because of financial constraints.

His transfer to Fulham has now been approved for a fee of about £10 million. The midfielder will cost the west London club £8 million upfront.

Pereira has also been convinced over the transfer with Fabrizio Romano confirming that an initial three-year deal has been finalized.

Pereira had a promising loan stint at Valencia during the 2018/19 campaign, and this saw him become a regular in the following season.

He was handed multiple opportunities from the number 10 position, but could not impress with his lack of creativity in the final third.

Eventually, United decided to sign Bruno Fernandes to fill the void, and the Portuguese proved to be a sensational signing for them.

The 27-year-old has made the position his own with 88 goal contributions from 125 outings. He has won the Player of the Year award twice.

Meanwhile, Pereira had a productive stint with Flamengo where he was a central midfielder. He bagged eight goals and three assists from 52 games.

With Fulham having been relegated in each of their last two seasons in the English Premier League, Pereira faces a new challenge in his career.

If he is effective with them, United will gain from the situation. Their share of the sell-on charge will be 20%.
