Manchester United prepare for £65m double transfer deal in January as Ten Hag scout more

Manchester United is anticipated to be aggressive in the January transfer market in order to bolster Erik ten Hag’s team.

According to rumors, Manchester United transfer targets, Cody Gakpo and Jeremie Frimpong might cost the club up to £65 million this winter. Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils are set to be busy in the January transfer market as he attempts to make changes to his top-four-chasing squad.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit leaves Manchester United lacking in attack, and finding a successor is believed to be high on the priority list.

There has been some speculation that United could sign a loan center-forward until the end of the season.

However, PSV striker Gakpo remains firmly in United’s sights, and conversations with his representation are ongoing, according to Fabrizio Romano, as they seek an agreement on personal terms.

According to Romano, United would have to pay roughly £43 million to reach an agreement with PSV, who are now anticipated to sell in the near future.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen right-back Frimpong is available for a far lower fee, estimated to be around £17 million to £22m.

Frimpong is believed to be keen on a move to United and the same applies to Gakpo, who has already made his interest in a switch to Old Trafford public.

“I was close to leaving, I spoke to Erik ten Hag a few times at Manchester United,” Gakpo recently told the Times.

“In the end, the deal didn’t go through, which was a shame, for me and my development, and because Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world but also for PSV because to transfer a player to Manchester United is a good thing for the club.”

Gakpo’s stock is continuing to rise at the World Cup where he has scored in all of Holland’s Group A fixtures.

The 23-year-old has 13 goals and 17 assists in all competitions this season for PSV, making him one of Europe’s most in-form players.

United is still interested in Gakpo, but they decided to prioritize a deal for Antony in the summer.

Ronaldo’s exit is anticipated to alter matters, with United in desperate need of another attacker to boost their frontline.

Ten Hag has intimated that he would be open to changing his attacking options ahead of the Premier League trip to Fulham.
