Michael Edwards is reported to be searching for a new challenge in the world of football after spending more than ten years at Liverpool, culminating in the position of Sporting Director.
Other teams are now attempting to persuade Edwards not to take a vacation after he revealed late in 2021 that it would be his final season. Since both teams finished behind the Scousers last season, they will instead be looking for his services right away.
CaughtOffside claims that Chelsea extended him an offer to serve as their new Sporting Director, but he declined it.
The Daily Mail now alleges that Manchester United is considering hiring Edwards as a replacement for departing employees.
Following Matt Judge’s departure, it is rumored that United are eager to hire Edwards as their own sporting director to assist with future transfers.
It makes perfect sense for Chelsea owner Todd Boehly to seek someone with an understanding of both the football and the business worlds. As a result, Edwards’ hiring makes sense.
especially given that it is his first summer in office following Roman Abramovich’s departure.
Edwards has previously worked with Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur.
