Manchester City is reportedly interested in signing Benfica center-back Antonio Silva for £87 million. Silva came through the Benfica academy but hadn’t even made his first-team debut before the start of this campaign. But following injuries to Lucas Verissimo and Joao Victor, Silva has taken his opportunity with both hands.

The 18-year-old has started all four of his side’s Champions League group stage matches and stood out in back-to-back clashes with PSG earlier this month. His impressive displays helped Benfica secure two 1-1 draw against the Parisians following victories over Maccabi Haifa and Juventus.

In September, Silva penned a new deal to remain at Benfica until 2027. But, according to French publication Le10Sport, Pep Guardiola’s City is interested in signing him, as is Real Madrid. But PSG are planning to return to the negotiation table in the coming months after already trying to turn Benfica’s heads in the summer when they loaned Julian Draxler to the club
