Manchester City boss has ruled out any conceivable summer move for super midfielder

Bernardo Silva, a Manchester City midfielder, has been linked with a move to Barcelona. When City manager Pep Guardiola attended an event to announce a charity match between the Premier League champions and Barcelona, the Portuguese’s name came up in conversation.

According to MARCA, Barcelona president Joan Laporta was also present at the ceremony and joked about Bernardo Silva wearing Blaugrana colors when the two sides clash on August 24. “We will be Bernardo Silva and 10 more,” Guardiola declared immediately.

The 27-year-name old’s was brought up again during the post-event press conference. Guardiola was inevitably questioned about Silva’s future. The Spanish coach has ruled out a summer transfer, stating that he believes the player will stay with the club. He swiftly noted, though, that the transfer market sometimes produces unanticipated results.

“For a long time, a lot of names have been floating around. I believe Bernardo will stay with us, but I do not want to have any players who do not want to remain with us. Guardiola remarked, “I don’t know what the market will be like.”

Laporta, the president of Barcelona, was also queried about the club’s interest in Silva. He, on the other hand, avoided commenting on their alleged pursuit.

“Having the best Barça players is a dream come true for me.” The reinforcements are led by Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff. “We may make a joke about it, as we have,” Laporta added, “but now it’s time to talk about players.”

Silva is lobbying for a move to Barcelona despite the fact that his current contract with Manchester City has three years left on it. The Catalan club appears to be on the verge of parting ways with Frenkie de Jong, who is apparently on his way to Manchester United and replacing him with the Portuguese.
