Man Utd diverts all attention to sign €50 million striker after super world cup display

Manchester United is working on a deal to sign Benfica attacker Goncalo Ramos, who has lit up the World Cup.

Manchester United is keeping an eye on Goncalo Ramos, according to the Spanish publication Fichajes. And the Red Devils could launch a January bid against Benfica, who value the 21-year-old at €50 million.

Manchester United has scouted a number of possible forwards to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo. The 37-year-old had a mutual contract termination a few weeks ago and was set to leave the club soon.

The Red Devils will go into the January transfer window looking for a right-back and at least one forward. And it appears like Ronaldo’s replacement on the national team may also be his successor at Manchester United.

Ronaldo was pulled out of Portugal’s Round of 16 matches against Mexico by head coach Fernando Santos. And Ramos made the occasion memorable with a superb hat trick, giving his national coach a selection headache ahead of the game against Morocco.

The Portuguese international has been a revelation this term as he has 20 goal contributions in 21 matches in all competitions. Erik ten Hag’s demand of a perfect number nine could get a match in Ramos, who has also been used in a withdrawn role.

Ramos has a contract till 2026 and Benfica should brace themselves as his ravishing form has already alerted a number of clubs. It is suggested the 21-year-old has a price tag of €50 million. And Manchester United should not have any issue investing that much in a promising talent

During the summer, Erik ten Hag also brought in Antony from Ajax. With Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Martial already on board, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is preparing an explosive attacking contingent for the future.

Cody Gakpo has also been linked with a move to Manchester United. However, his exorbitant price tag may be an issue for them, and Ramos, at €50 million, maybe a more affordable option. A price agreement for the player might be struck, and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will carry out its plan next month.
