Liverpool star wins 2021/22 PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has won the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Year title, according to the club’s official website, following a phenomenal individual season with the Reds.

Despite the fact that the 29-year-old couldn’t finish the season on a high note due to Liverpool’s failings in the Champions League and Premier League, his individual efforts may have made a significant impact on the club’s quest for the quadruple.

In 35 Premier League games this season, the Egyptian striker has scored 23 goals and given 14 assists. His outstanding performance has earned him the Premier League golden boot and top assist provider titles.

Salah is about to add another prestigious individual prize to his collection, as the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Year award for the 2021/22 season has been confirmed on Liverpool’s official website. It would be the 29-year-old forward’s second such trophy, following his victory in 2018.

The award is a one-time honor bestowed by the league’s fans to a short-listed candidate selected by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA). Liverpool players have now won three of the past four such trophies.

31 goals in 51 games in all competitions aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but the Egyptian has done it while playing in one of the world’s hardest leagues, demonstrating his talent.

In the recently finished season, Salah helped Liverpool win two trophies: the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. However, his prospects of winning the Ballon d’Or may be jeopardized if he fails to win the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
