Liverpool have reportedly launched an offer to sign Barcelona forward

Liverpool has reportedly made an offer to sign Ousmane Dembele, despite indications that the Frenchman is planning to extend his contract with Barcelona.

Dembele would be seen as a clear replacement for Mo Salah, according to the Sports article.

Because Salah has reportedly refused to lower his demanding salary demands of £400,000 per week, Liverpool is reportedly considering selling the Egyptian.

However, Dembele’s track record of fitness may raise some questions for Liverpool supporters.

The method Jürgen Klopp uses on Merseyside is extremely demanding, and it is not one that particularly benefits players who are prone to injuries.

Dembele has never once started more than 20 games in a season since joining Barca.

Salah, on the other hand, has started at least 30 Premier League games for Liverpool each season since he joined the club.

Since joining the Reds, the 30-year-old winger has averaged 19 Premier League goals each season. During his time in Spain, Dembele has scored fewer than 4 goals on average per season.

Salah’s departure from Liverpool would leave a significant vacuum in the team, thus Liverpool could be better off looking for a goal scorer with the greater track record to fill it.

Dembele is a free agent right now, so any team is free to approach him about signing a contract.
