An ex-Premier League defender says Timo Werner of Chelsea would be ideal for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
According to a former Premier League defender, Liverpool should buy Chelsea forward Timo Werner as a shock replacement for Sadio Mane.
Since his £47.5 million transfer from RB Leipzig two years ago, Werner has had minimal playing time at Stamford Bridge, and it appears that his future is uncertain. Before joining Chelsea, the Germany international was frequently linked with a transfer to Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of the Reds, has already used this summer’s transfer window to bolster his attacking options by signing Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a figure that may reach a club-record of £85 million if add-ons are satisfied. Therefore, it would seem incredibly unlikely that he would be thinking about making an offer for Werner.
Werner, however, might believe that Klopp can bring out the best in him. Right-back Alan Hutton, a former Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Scotland player, firmly believes this to be the case.
“I think Werner can contribute something with his quickness and his trickery,” Hutton said to Football Insider. I believe he could work inside the framework. I believe that if you take a look at how Liverpool has played during the years that Klopp has been in charge, you’ll see that he prefers wingers who come in from the side of the field, and I believe that’s where he is most effective.
I am really a diehard supporter of Liverpool
We need him
