Cristiano Ronaldo has been forced to accept a wage cut as a result of the club’s poor season

Cristiano Ronaldo, a player wanted by Manchester United, will receive significantly less money next season as a result of the team’s failure to make the Champions League this year.

Ronaldo scored 24 goals in all competitions last season, but he couldn’t help United’s underachievers finish in the top four. Under the direction of temporary manager Ralf Rangnick, United lost out on playing in the Champions League and ultimately concluded the season in sixth place.

Ronaldo has made it known to the Old Trafford leadership that he would prefer to leave the club this summer as a result of United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League. However, if a move doesn’t happen, Ronaldo will be financially affected.

The Telegraph recently reported that Ronaldo’s £480,000 weekly salary will be reduced for the upcoming season due to “incentive clauses centered around United’s participation in the Champions League.”

Although Ronaldo hopes to leave Manchester United in the upcoming weeks, it is unclear which of the 37-year-prospective old’s suitors would be able to pay his asking price.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has contacted Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Napoli about possible transfers for the Portuguese superstar, but United has stated that they have not received any inquiries about its hero.

According to the source, Manchester United “fully expects” Ronaldo to complete the second year of the two-year contract he signed last summer.
Once Ronaldo reports for preseason practice on Monday under new manager Erik ten Hag, it is anticipated that the Old Trafford leadership will demand confrontational talks with him.

The Dutchman, who hasn’t made a single signing since joining the club, will take a significant hit upon learning that Ronaldo wants to depart. While negotiations with Barcelona over a deal for Frenkie de Jong continue, United is optimistic that it will be able to sign Feyenoord full-back Tyrell Malacia early next week.
