Newcastle offered a good chance to sign £54k-per-week Mönchengladbach forward

Newcastle United is thought to have been offered the chance to acquire Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach, with the Frenchman garnering interest from a number of clubs.

That’s according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who told GIVEMESPORT that the Magpies are considering a move for the 25-year-old, with the attacker appearing open for grabs as his current contract expires.

According to a reliable source, “Thuram has been offered to Newcastle for the next window.” He is someone they are willing to consider. They recognize that he is a good buy at the price that has been set for them.”

This comes after The Sun reported that the five-cap wonder is a target for Eddie Howe’s side, as well as Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal, amid the possibility of leaving at a bargain in January or leaving Germany for nothing in the summer.

Not only is Thuram attracting interest as a result of his contract status, but the former Guingamp man – who is the son of France legend Lilian Thuram – has warranted such attention as a result of his on-field displays, has been in sparkling form at club level this season.

The £54k-per-week ace has netted 13 goals and laid on four assists in just 17 games across all fronts for the Bundesliga side so far this term, taking his total tally for the club to 41 goals and 26 assists in 119 games to date.

The Parma-born ace, who is part of France’s World Cup squad, could potentially add even more firepower to Howe’s ranks at St James’ Park, with the northeast side reportedly eyeing another center-forward addition despite only recently acquiring Alexander Isak.
