On Monday, the Reds will go to Manchester in search of their first Premier League victory of the season, after two disappointing draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace.
An extended injury list has contributed to their poor start, with nine first-team players currently out.
Caoimhin Kelleher, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate, Calvin Ramsay, Thiago, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Kaide Gordon are all still out, with Klopp declaring in his pre-match news conference on Friday that Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota are “coming closer” to returning.
However, there was a sort of boost in Saturday’s training session, with two potential doubts appearing to win their fight to be fit for Monday’s match.
After appearing to train individually in Liverpool’s session on Thursday, both Jordan Henderson and Nat Phillips look to have taken part in the full workout on Saturday.
Henderson was only fit enough to start the draw against Palace on the bench, having picked up a knock in training last week.
His absence from full training on Thursday raised concerns that he might be unable to face Erik ten Hag’s side, but after working alongside the rest of the team on Saturday, the Liverpool captain appears to be in a position to start.
Meanwhile, Phillips was another player who trained separately from the main group on Thursday after being given a start against Palace.
However, the center-back participated in the entire practice session on Saturday, albeit Joe Gomez, who has recovered an injury of his own, is expected to start alongside Virgil van Dijk against Manchester United.
