Tyrell Malacia is being purchased by Olympique Lyonnais, but Manchester United is attempting to sabotage the transaction.
The 22-year-old was scheduled to join the French team after a meager €15 million fees was agreed upon.
According to reports, the athlete declined English clubs in favor of working with Dutch coach Peter Bosz.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, tweeted this afternoon that United had made a last-minute approach for the Dutch international.
Romano alleged, “Excl: Manchester United are trying to steal the Tyrell Malacia transaction.”
“Man Utd stepped into it before it was signed, after complete verbal agreement with OL.
The player might be at ease moving to Old Trafford because United also employs a Dutch coach, and doing so would undoubtedly result in a higher income than he would receive at the French club.
Romano continued by giving a tantalizing tidbit:
Malacia employs the same agents as Frenkie de Jong, in detail.
This week, United hopes to finalize a deal with Barcelona to bring Frenkie de Jong to Old Trafford.
Today, Sky asserted that the two teams had achieved a comprehensive understanding.
Romano makes a suggestion that while the work on De Jong’s transaction was being completed, Malacia and others may have been negotiating personal conditions behind the scenes.
