The 23-year-old England international has been named Chelsea’s Player of the Season

It has been confirmed that Mason Mount has been selected Chelsea’s Player of the Season for the 2021/22 season.

Mount adds a personal honor to his list of accomplishments after leading the Blues to Super Cup and Club World Cup victories, as well as Champions League qualification.

He was named the winner of the award on Sunday afternoon on the Stamford Bridge pitch after Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Watford in the Premier League. He beat out Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz.

The midfielder finished a strong season in the Premier League with 11 goals and 10 assists.

Mount has won his second consecutive Player of the Season title, this time as the top player in the Chelsea squad.

The 23-year-old lost out on the Premier Title’s Young Player of the Season accolade, which was handed to Phil Foden ahead of Man City‘s last match of the season, in which they went on to win the league.

Mount has recently gotten plaudits from former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard for his improvement and achievements, having scored and assisted in double digits in the Premier League this season.

“Mason is a tremendous player, and I’m glad he’s receiving those numbers,” he remarked. He’s a high-level player, and his numbers reflect that. For him, it’s fantastic.”

Mount acknowledged last month that he sets goals for himself and that he wanted to reach double digits in goals and assists this season, which he did en route to winning the award.

“It’s been a productive season for me,” he remarked. It was something I considered at the start of the season.

“You want to be the dangerous midfielder that gets into the box and scores. That’s something I’ve always admired and want to be.”
