Liverpool striker proceed with contract talk as klopp cant wait for a permanent deal

Liverpool is in contract talks with Roberto Firmino, as the club wants to keep him beyond this season.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are making headway in contract negotiations with Roberto Firmino, who is expected to commit his future to the club.

Firmino has presented himself in a new fashion as the striker has proved his worth again and again this season. The 31-year-old has been the most consistent forward for Jurgen Klopp as he has already been involved in 13 goal contributions in all competitions.

Despite his excellent form he was surprisingly snubbed from the World Cup squad of Brazil but the player will be rewarded with fresh new terms to extend his association.

The Brazilian striker joined the club from Hoffenheim in 2015 and has shown to be an important member of the side. It was suggested that the player could depart the club after his current deal expires since the club would not extend his contract.

But, with his goal-scoring exploits, he has exceeded all expectations, and the Premier League giants are now ready to step up as the player will be free to talk a move with other teams in January.

Jurgen Klopp also confirmed the stakeholders are looking after Firmino’s contractual situation but he will unlikely be offered a long-term contract.

The Reds will use the forthcoming World Cup break to complete all outstanding issues, and Firmino’s new deal should be finalized before the winter transfer window.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg also stated that the team is making steady progress in negotiations with the Brazilian forward’s entourage.

“Been told that talks about a new contract beyond 2023 are progressing very well. But no final steps at this stage. Player can really imagine to extend. Relation with Klopp should be perfect.”

Jurgen Klopp will be using the World Cup beak to put his players through paces as the Reds are planning a long camp in Dubai. The break could recharge their batteries and players like Roberto Firmino could be ready for a more fierce battle on the pitch.
