Manchester City has completed the signing of Emiliano Lawrence, the newest addition to their youth player pool.
The 17-year-old, who rose through Everton’s junior system to become one of the club’s most promising players, will now cross the M62 to Manchester to play for City’s youth system.
The offensive midfielder is the most recent addition to a group of young players who have joined the Citizens, including Ben Knight, Luke Mbete, and most notably attacker Liam Delap, who is presently on loan in the Championship.
The attacking midfielder paid homage to his old club saying: ‘Thank you to everyone @everton for everything over the last 10 years.’
But was equally looking forward to starting life at the Premier League champions, saying: ‘Excited to get started at Man City.’
Having been capped for both Scotland and England youth sides in the past, the former Everton youngster made his debut at the mere age of 16, playing four times in an advanced age group.
Lawrence looks to be a brilliant acquisition for the Citizens, boasting seven goals in 28 appearances at Everton while finding the back of the net seven times in the Under-18s Premier League this term.

Having been capped for both Scotland and England youth sides, the former Everton youngster caught the eye of the Man City scouting team after making his debut at the U23 level at the mere age of 16, making four appearances at the advanced age group.
While Everton has one of the best reputations in the Premier League for producing young talents, including Lawrence, City is slowly starting to show that their talent acquisition strategies are superior to many other teams around England.
Rumors are currently circulating that City could also be the favorite to sign Chelsea academy star Jude Soonsup-Bell, whose contract will expire at the end of the current season.
