4-2-3-1 lineup: Bayern Munich Vs Barcelona as mane leads the front line

Bayern Munich will face off against Barcelona on Wednesday night as they welcome the visitors to Allianz Arena and look to clinch all three points on match day two of the group stages. The German giants defeated Inter Milan 2-0 in the first round of the Champions League group stages, and they will be looking for another win against the Spanish outfit this midweek.

Julian Nagelsmann will most likely line up his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation and may make a few changes to his starting lineup for this game. Both Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry could have early opportunities to impress.

Defence

Manuel Neuer will continue to play in goal for the Bavarian club after earning a clean sheet in the last UCL fixture. Dayot Upamecano could form a defensive partnership alongside Matthijs de Ligt at the centre of Bayern’s defence as they look to maintain a solid defensive shape at the back throughout the game.

Benjamin Pavard will be a nailed-on starter while Alphonso Davies hopes to put his pace to good use as the left-back. Nagelsmann will allow both of them to get forward to join in on the attack but will ask them to remain compact on defence.

Sven Ulreich and Lucas Hernandez will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Leon Goretzka will probably get an opportunity to catch the eye alongside Joshua Kimmich at the centre of the park. Both Bayern midfielders would focus on dominating possession and making some decisive passes to set up their teammates to win this game.

The attacking trio of Leroy Sane, Thomas Muller and Serge Gnabry will operate just ahead of them as part of Nagelsmann’s attack. Both Sane and Gnabry would be asked to stretch the opposition in the wide areas.

Marcel Sabitzer and Jamal Musiala will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to impress in the latter stages to create an impact.

Attack

Sadio Mane will lead the charge for the German outfit up top. The Senegalese talent will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net as he looks to put his name on the scoresheet this time around.
