The starting lineup for Manchester United will be very different from that of Saturday.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says his starting XI against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford on Sunday would be very different from the one that faced Atletico Madrid.

On Saturday, the Dutchman suffered his first defeat as United manager, with Joao Felix scoring late on, just before Fred was sent off. Many feel that, with the exception of Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw, the players that started in Norway will form his first-choice lineup.

That is if Cristiano Ronaldo is not still at the club at the end of the transfer window. Late on Friday, the wanted striker stated on social media that he would be returning to action for United against Vallecano.

The 37-year-old missed United’s pre-season trip to Thailand and Australia owing to family obligations, but he returned to Carrington for the first time since the conclusion of the season this week.

Ten Hag announced his starting XI preparations for the Rayo Vallecano match after his team’s defeat to Atletico Madrid.

“The players who played from the outset today will not play tomorrow,” he informed the club’s internal media. “So we’ll have a different starting XI tomorrow.” However, there are players who have come on who can start tomorrow.”

It excludes David de Gea, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Fred, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag said of his Theatre of Dreams debut, “I think [it will be special].” I can tell you how I felt afterward, but it would be fantastic. It’s wonderful because I heard it was sold out.”
