3-4-3 lineup: Chelsea VS RB Salzburg as Havertz set full fit for Champions League

Chelsea FC XI vs. RB Salzburg: Team news, lineup, and injury updates for the Champions League match

The majority of Chelsea’s players are available ahead of Graham Potter‘s first match as manager at Stamford Bridge against RB Salzburg.

N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy are out of the Champions League match on Wednesday, leaving Chelsea’s new manager with 24 options.

Chelsea predicted lineup vs RB Salzburg - Champions League

Kante has been out for a month with a hamstring injury and has had a string of minor injuries over the last few years.

Meanwhile, Mendy is still recovering from a minor patellar tendon injury that kept him out of his team’s defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

The Blues are likely to follow former manager Thomas Tuchel’s approach and use a 3-4-3 system, giving Potter time to stamp his authority on the team over time.

Kepa Arrizabalaga will come into the side in goal but big decisions will need to be made around whether to start Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after his struggles away in Croatia.

With most of the squad available and no other match until October after several recent Premier League matches got postponed, the players will be clamoring to start under Potter.

Chelsea XI (3-4-3): Kepa; Fofana, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly; James, Kovacic, Jorginho, Cucurella; Havertz, Aubameyang, Sterling
