Man United star putting the yards hard during the off-season

Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United is continuing to work hard in the off-season.

After Cristiano Ronaldo published a snapshot of himself on his Instagram page, Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea sent a quick message to his teammate in admiration of his body.

Ronaldo, who scored 24 goals in his first season back at Old Trafford, is presently on vacation, taking a well-deserved break before United’s pre-season preparations begin. Several members of the Reds’ team will return to Carrington on Monday, but those who have recently been on international duty will return a bit later.

In the most recent round of international matches, Ronaldo appeared in three of Portugal’s four UEFA Nations League matches. That means he won’t be among the first group of players to meet with United’s new manager, Erik ten Hag, next week.

The United star is presently on vacation with his family, but that hasn’t prevented him from taking care of himself and improving his fitness levels. He shared a photo of himself in the gym, topless, displaying his six-pack and biceps on his Instagram profile.

Unsurprisingly, the message drew a flood of praise from United fans, who praised his physique and determination. It also drew De Gea‘s attention, who responded with a four-word remark.

“Missing a little gym!” said the statement, which was translated from Spanish to English.

The goalie appears to have conveyed the message to the Portugal captain with a hint of sarcasm, alluding to how good Ronaldo looks when he isn’t training with his United teammates every day.

He continues to put a lot of effort away from the training ground, as evidenced by his continuous success. He’ll be looking to continue as United’s goalscorer-in-chief next season, where he left off.
